Curator's notes:

A key example of Demna's early experimentation with proportion and fabrication at Balenciaga, the Spandex Shrunk Shirt reworks traditional tailoring through a compact, body-conscious silhouette. Introduced during his debut collections for the house, the piece contrasts sharply with the oversized tailoring that defined much of the SS17 runway, showcasing the tension between structure, fit, and unconventional materials that characterized the era.
